BUILD Consultation Feb 21 & 28, 2010

The BUILD Development Team has been beavering away with Clifford Patten, our Architect, to refine the proposals for changing and enhancing the premises. These plans have been presented to the Leadership and we would now like to give the opportunity for everyone to view and comment on the revised plans.

Therefore after the morning services on 21st and 28th February 2010, you will find the team in The Stables Lounge, eager to help interpret the proposals and take a note of your views.

On Thursday 18th June there will be an opportunity for you to view the design concepts submitted by the three architects who have been invited to interpret our Outline Project Brief for the:

• Pre-school room
• The Main Hall
• The Parlour.

In the context of prayer and worship you will be invited to comment on the three design proposals.

Please make it your priority to be there – your participation is invaluable and is necessary as we seek to select the architect to be engaged on the project.

On the evening there will be opportunities to pray and seek guidance on the project.

This multi-media event is going to be fun, entertaining and thought provoking. We are going to look at familiar themes in new ways: Build faith, Build relationships, Build facilities & resources.

You will have a mission to discover all about what happens at LRBC now. There will be feedback from the consultation process with the home groups. We will investigate the history of LRBC - how the church was established here in this neighbourhood. We will also venture into the future….

All this and more, sketches, exhibits, films, music….and Steven will conclude the evening with a brief talk drawing all the various strands together!

LRBC BUILD Project Consultation

Dear Home Group Leaders,

You will know from recent church meetings and the small group leaders breakfast in July, that the church is currently in a time of reflection and listening to the membership about the Build FAITH, RELATIONSHIPS & FACILITIES Project.

Part of the listening process will be to visit Home Groups and other groups where people are not included in home groups and give you all an opportunity to tell us what is on your heart regarding the future changes necessary for our premises to fulfil our mission.

Jane Brookes and I would love to come to your home group within the first six weeks of the new session to ask you some questions. The questions will be put to every consultation group so that the answers can be compared like with like. There will be an opportunity for your to contribute on any matters we do not cover regarding the Build FAITH, RELATIONSHIPS & FACILITIES Project.

We would like you to do two things:

1. Please give me a preferred date in the first six meetings when you would like us to come and meet with you – by 6^th September 2008. (Where two groups select the same date we will address that by contacting you).
2. Publicise widely within your group - especially to those who don’t normally come (it may get them to come to the group more regularly) to ensure the best turnout possible so all can get an opportunity to give their views.

The process during the evening will probably mean no time for a bible study but there will be time for worship - if that’s what you have as part of your meeting, and an informal opportunity to chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
