Super Saturday Photos: Leigh-on-Sea Celebrates a day of Olympic Gold together

We had a fantastic day on Saturday 4th August celebrating a day of Olympic finals together as part of More Than Gold and the Local Leaders programme.

The morning saw and wonderful All Day Breakfast with Big Screen Action, and we were joined by Team GB’s Paralympian Goalball athlete Anna Sharkey, who gave us a great insight into her sport, her excitement about being in the London 2012 Paralympics and representing Great Britain. Anna also spoke about how her Faith is integral to all parts of her life.

The afternoon saw hundreds gather together for a fun day, with bouncy castles, inflatable assault courses and face painting. Dads and children enjoyed racing on the assault course! Once again there was lots of action beamed live by the fantastic BBC to our Big Screen. Refreshments were provided by Oasis The Coffee House and the cake and coffee went down a treat.

The evening saw an electric night of action form the Olympic Stadium, as folk form the neighbourhood enjoyed good food from Fish Rocks and Pure Spice while cheering on our Golden athletes.
