FROM football to films and craft to colouring a half-term of fun is promised at the Children\u2019s Festival 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A range of activities for youngsters aged from 3-11 is on the agenda at the week-long celebration organised by local churches in the Westcliff-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea area.<\/p>\n

A series of events are to be held at venues across the two towns from Monday October 26 to Saturday October 31.<\/p>\n

The Children\u2019s Festival 2015 is being run by volunteers and helpers from Leigh Road Baptist, West Leigh and Westcliff Baptist Churches.<\/p>\n

Emma Nash, festival organiser, said: \u201cThree local churches are working together to offer families fun things to do together in half-term, which does not cost the earth.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to meet local people and hopefully start some new friendships with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fun begins with a story time and craft session with children\u2019s author Amanda Brandon, suitable for youngsters aged 3-8, at 1150, West Leigh Baptist Church, London Road, Leigh-on-Sea, on Monday October 26 from 10am-12noon. Tickets are \u00a31 per child, with parents expected to stay.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday a football tournament kicks off for anyone aged between 8-11 – with medals for all players – at Chalkwell Park, Westcliff, from 10am-12.15pm. Parents are welcome to watch and stay although this is not essential at the event being held near the London Road entrance. Tickets are \u00a32 per child with pre-booking<\/strong> required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For those who enjoy being crafty then why not pop along to the Messy Family Fun events at Leigh Road Baptist Church, Marguerite Drive, Leigh-on-Sea, on both the Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10am-12.30 pm.<\/p>\n

Children aged from three upwards and their parents\/carers will have an opportunity to try crazy crafts, hear stories from the life of Jesus and learn new skills. Tickets cost \u00a32 per person with lunch provided! Some tickets will be available at the door.<\/p>\n

Budding artists from three upwards are invited to a Colouring Fun afternoon at Westcliff Baptist Church, London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, on Wednesday (Oct 28). Admission is 50p per person with some tickets available on the day.<\/p>\n

And for those looking for a comfy seat and a good film then the screening of Paddington (PG cert) could be just the ticket on Thursday (Oct 29) at Westcliff Baptist Church from 2pm-4pm. Admission is free. Pre-booking is not required so just turn up on the day and enjoy.<\/p>\n

An interactive and fun hand drum music workshop suitable for ages 4-11 led by professional drummer Steve Cooper is being held West Leigh Baptist Church on Friday from 10am-12noon. Cost is \u00a32 per child with pre-booking essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Those enjoying making a racquet may enjoy an Open Afternoon at Leigh Road Baptist Tennis Club on Friday from 12 noon-3pm. Suitable for all ages with a cost of just 50p per person. All equipment supplied, but please wear appropriate footwear.<\/p>\n

The week-long festival culminates with a morning Celebration Party at Leigh Road Baptist Church on Saturday (Oct 31) from 10am-12 noon. Fun for all the family, with games, crafts, Bible stories and a magic show. Tickets cost \u00a32.50 per person with some available on the day.<\/p>\n

Parents are expected to stay at all events, except for the football tournament. There is no charge <\/strong>at any event for children aged two and under.<\/p>\n
