Premier Christian Media’s 5th Annual Christian New Media Awards and Conference (CNMAC) recognised a new and growing wave of social media innovators this past weekend, with the awards ceremony on Friday 14th October 2011.
Leigh Road Baptist Church and our website agency Ecru were invited to the prestigious black tie event at St Stephen Walbrook in the City of London to represent our website in the Accessibility Award category which recognises websites that have an exemplary commitment to accessibility for all.
We were up against the excellent Bible Reflections website in this category sponsored by the Torch Trust. We are delighted and honoured to announce that due to the hard work and professionalism of Sarah Lennard Brown, Matt Williams and Andy Gosling of Ecru, we were announced Winners of the award.
We are delighted with the award and pray that our website and all that we do is accessible to all. Our desire as the church is to live relevant and approachable Gospel filled lives, that have an impact for Jesus in our community. Our website is one way we hope to achieve that.
Our thanks go to Premier for such a wonderful evening.
The CNMAC Patron, The Bishop of London, opened the awards evening by acknowledging the diversity of the audience, and those shortlisted for an award.
Rt Revd & Rt Hon Richard Chartres said, “It’s an occasion of the greatest significance to all those who are serious about Christian mission. This is where the Church porch is now. It’s not so much those fly blown papers on the wall, the Church porch is now on your website.”
The evening, was hosted by Premier Christian Radio Presenter, Maria Rodrigues-Toth and Dr. Krish Kandiah, Executive Director: Churches in Mission and England Director for the UK Evangelical Alliance.
