Badminton
Leigh Road Baptist Church (LRBC) Badminton Club is a friendly club that is non league, but very competitive between the individual members and pairs. It has been running for over 10 years.
We meet every Wednesday of the year apart from a few weeks at Christmas when the decorations in the hall get a bit too large and complex for us to play badminton around!
The Club runs from 7pm to 10pm.
The club is open to anyone, over the age of 16, in the local area that wishes to join. The hall is located on the church premises. The membership is free. All equipment can be provided. Friendly instruction is also available by a qualified coach. We only have one court so games are organised by the club leader - they are structured in such a way so that by the end of the evening most people have had the chance to play with every member attending that night. We generally play doubles matches, both mixed and single sexed. Warm up activities where all members are on the court at the same time are also organised occasionally to vary the routine. Tea, coffee and cold drinks are available every night at no cost, and the occasional biscuit or snack also creeps in on occasions. The club aims to provide a sociable evening out for its members.
For more details about the badminton club contact the Church Office.
Football

Golf
Occasionally we organise a day of golf at LRBC followed by a buffet and drink at Oasis the Coffee House. Or as we did last time, a BBQ in the Church garden as the sun was shining and we were all suffering from heat exhaustion after 4 1/2 ours on the course at Belfairs Woods.
If you are interested in joining us for our next Golf Day please let us know by emailing the Church Office or telephoning: 01702 478698
Tennis
The Tennis Club has an open membership policy which means that it welcomes all comers whether they have a church affiliation or not.
At our Victory Path grounds in Westcliff we have three well-maintained, coloured surface hardcourts, and there is the added opportunity of being able to use our neighbouring clubs' courts when our own demand for playing surfaces is necessary.
In addition we have a comfortable clubhouse with refreshment bar, changing rooms and toilets; a grass patio area, and a sizeable grass lawn for youngsters' and adults' recreation.
