Rev Steve Tinning: Associate Minister
Steve is married to Lauren and they have a little girl called Lily and a son called Joseph. Steve grew up in Leigh-on-Sea and is delighted to be back in his home town after being away for 15 years. He trained as a youth worker at Oxford Brookes University and spent eight years at Brentwood Baptist Church before being called into wider church ministry. Steve helped pioneer a new Urban Expression Church Plant in East London while training at Spurgeon's College. His role at Leigh Road encompasses children, youth, families and discipleship, but he also looks forward to sharing his heart for mission and contemplative/alternative worship. He loves the cinema, gigs and Peter Pan!
Rev Emma Nash: Mission Development Minister for Oasis The Coffee House
Having spent a large part of the last 10 years in coffee shops, Emma has finally achieved her dream and is running one! Her passion is to make the Christian faith more accessible and understandable for people who don't go to church. She finished training as a Baptist evangelist in summer 2013 and joined the staff of LRBC with particular responsibility for developing Oasis The Coffee House. In her spare time she loves reading (everything from Jane Austen to Henning Mankell), eating out, karaoke bars and of course hanging out in coffee shops. She is also learning to play the guitar. Slowly. Emma is married to Derek, who is patiently trying to help her with her bar chords.
Flavia Blows: Office Administrator
Flavia joined the staff team at LRBC in June 2017.
Sylvie Lowe: Pastoral Care Coordinator
Sylvie Lowe has been a member of Leigh Road Baptist Church since becoming a Christian in 1988. She worked with BMS World Mission from 1998 to 2004, firstly in North Africa and then in the Lebanon. Since her return from overseas mission she has been working full-time with the church as Pastoral Care Coordinator working alongside the Ministers in seeking to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support for people within our community.
Jane Brookes: Church Administrator
Jane thinks that Leigh is a fantastic place to live with her family, everything is so convenient. She enjoys living by the sea and appreciates the community feel of the town, particularly the local shops and the many community events, such as the Art Trail which take place every year. Her family enjoy being part of Leigh Road Baptist Church; meeting every Sunday here to worship God together. Jane believes God is personal and desires a relationship with everyone as individuals. Participating in the small groups at LRBC helps to encourage and build that relationship.
Jane strongly believes that the local church should be active in the local community, which is why she enjoys her work of facilitating all sorts of events and activities taking place within the premises at LRBC.
Jane led the project known as BUILD which substantially improved and enhanced the LRBC buildings. Now, as Church Administrator for LRBC Jane looks after the practical side of church life and seeks to ensure that LRBC fulfils its obligations and requirements as a charitable organisation.
Diane Allmark : LRBC Pre-school ManagerDiane is married to Brian and they have a grown up daughter, Jo and a granddaughter Aimee. Diane has worked in the childcare sector since 1990 and has a BA Hons degree in Education Studies (Early Childhood).
Her responsibilities at LRBC as pre-school manager are to ensure the provision of safe, high quality care and education for the pre-school children; to fulfil legal and statutory duties in accordance with Ofsted, Government and Local Authority requirements; manage the team of pre-school staff on a day-to-day basis. Diane can also mix paint and make playdough! Outside of pre-school, Diane is a licensed official for motorcycle speedway and teaches adult tap dancing. She also enjoys live music, musicals and holidays in Tenerife.
Martin Pawsey: Site Manager
If you visit LRBC then you'll invariably meet Martin. Who is always happy and eager to help. Martin is married to Jacq and they have two teenage children Lauren and Caleb. Martin's role involves opening up the premises and greeting the users and visitors to our facilities. Maintenance skills are also used to keep the extensive LRBC site in check. Martin also leads the Energize youth club with Jacq and other leaders.

Steve is the newest member of our staff here at Leigh Road Baptist - although he is no stranger to us. He was formerley the front of house manager for Oasis Coffee House. Steve has 5 grown up children and a passion for sports, especially rugby union and cricket. Steve is a also a trained sign writer and is very arty. He has been a Fire Fighter, Milkman, Cook and Cartographer and is always around to help (when on duty).
Julie Eady: Financial Administrator, Oasis The Coffee House Business Manager and IT support
Julie is married to Martin and is a qualified Management Accountant. Julie splits her working week between managing all the financial aspects of LRBC and being a self employed book keeper.
Her interests include Golf, wine and socialising. Julie is heavily involved in volunteering at the church and with its community work.
David Elcock: Creative/Community Work Coordinator and IT support
David's work at the church is extremely varied, he collaborates with the ministers and those providing spiritual content to enhance the creative communication.
David leads the churches community work and finds ways that the church can get involved in helping with events and causes in Leigh that will make a difference. He volunteers as a leader of the youth groups at LRBC and supports the work of Love Southend.
